Rare AMODEC (American Modern Decoration) sideboard designed by Donald Deskey and crafted from Australian Laurel.
The AMODEC line was introduced in 1935 and was only produced for a few years. Born in 1894, Donald Deskey was an artist and a pioneer in the field of Industrial design, as well as a leading figure in the development of Art Deco style in the United States. He gained attention for his interior design of Radio City Music Hall and for multiple projects for the Rockefeller family. A collection of his work is held by the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
